Hotel Auberge Edelweiss

The owners, Marlon and Robin, are warm, active people, and the place is very welcoming to cyclists. The rooms have classic alpine decor and are clean and spacious. Breakfast has everything you could want, and dinner is the best I've had in La Grave, though you should book ahead. Make sure to spend some time in the garden taking in the breathtaking view. It's in one of my favorite places on Earth.

We spent two nights here on our Classic Cols tour. The chalet-style accommodation was spotless and had all the essentials, including a small kitchen. There's excellent bike storage and kit for minor repairs. Dinner at the first-class restaurant was great, and the bar and outdoor seating have beautiful views. Breakfast was a very good continental spread too. Lovely people made the stay.

I’ve stayed here twice, once in September on a motorcycle trip and again in June while white water kayaking. Both visits were lovely. The hotel is easy to reach from the main road and sits in a handy spot in town, but La Grave itself has plenty to explore, from the Romanche river to the mountains by cable car or trail. It’s also a good base for cyclists tackling the area’s big climbs. The staff are very friendly. The owners let us park our motorcycles in their driveway, out of sight from the main road. The restaurant is excellent, and my favorite spot was the characterful little hotel bar with its excellent beer. I saw a negative review from someone who couldn't charge their electric car. They do have electric chargers here. My simple solution would be to sell the electric car and get a petrol one, or a powerful motorcycle. It’s an excellent place to spend a few nights. La Grave is a unique part of the Alps and well worth visiting.

Robin and Marlon, thanks again for a lovely stay. The hotel was incredibly peaceful, and waking up to mountain views right from the bed was amazing. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinners, and there was a rich wine list to choose from. Highly recommend!
