After seven nights at Villa Mercedes, we’ve just left and already miss the place. We came away feeling refreshed and grateful, and we definitely plan to return. The hosts were kind and welcoming while giving us privacy. They never intruded, and made it easy to feel at ease and cared for. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and really restful, ideal for disconnecting from city noise and the constant rush. This isn’t a party holiday spot. It’s not a shiny, glamorous luxury hotel, so it may not suit you if that’s what you’re after. But there’s real soul here, with thoughtful design and furnishings, quality linens and towels, a wonderful pool, and a beautiful garden.

We came across this place on Booking and decided to give this unusual kind of accommodation a try. It’s a charming, beautiful villa with lots of separate rooms, each with a different interior style. There’s a spacious property, a pool, a terrace, and free parking. Fred was friendly, interesting to talk to, and gave us useful tips about the area. The continental French breakfast is included and the owner served it on the terrace: pastries, coffee, jam and butter, juice, plus a stunning view. We enjoyed it much more than the impersonal hotels that cost more. A couple of small suggestions 😇: the cleaning staff could pay more attention to details like the floor corners. It would also be nice to update the website and add social media, which could bring in more direct bookings.

My boyfriend booked this for us while we were driving around France, and it was an absolutely terrible stay. The rooms weren’t properly cleaned, and I’m pretty sure the sheets hadn’t been changed. From what I could tell, the family was running the place, and they seemed unprofessional and unsure of what they were doing. Fred in particular was awfully rude and had no manners. Maybe they need more staff to turn the rooms over properly.
