Gîtes Rocheflamme

That stone house was spacious, cool, clean, and had everything I needed, with a pool that was the highlight. I stayed three nights at "Le Genévrier" gîte with my dog and cat, and Ms. Montialoux was such a friendly, helpful host. The region is magnificent ✨

We had L'Alouette to ourselves, including its lovely garden, and spent every day on the terrace or at the beautiful, well-kept pool. It’s shared with the other gîtes, but we were always alone there. The renovated old house was spotless, very spacious, and stayed cool behind its thick walls. Beds were impeccable and it had all the amenities we needed. The place is peaceful and surrounded by nature. In the evenings a flock of sheep passed by; we chatted with the kind shepherd, who even offered to let us milk them. Mid-July was a great time to stay. The location puts you right in the heart of the Méjean plateau, with La Canourgue, Saint-Enimie, La Malène and everything else we wanted to see within reach. There was plenty to do, but the week felt less touristy and pleasantly quiet. The Tarn gorges were magnificent, we were blown away. Our hostess was very kind and helpful, and gave us great tips. Excellent stay, thank you 😍☀️

The apartment had everything we needed and was laid out well, with enough space for our group of 10. It was well insulated, too. We spent a week at the Chanterelles gîte with friends, and the owner was welcoming, attentive, and easy to reach. It’s a handy base for exploring several beautiful landscapes. Thanks for the hospitality, maybe we’ll meet again sometime.

The cottage was spacious and quiet, with good-sized kitchen, living room, and bedroom, and the beds were comfortable. But it felt shabby inside. Furniture was damaged, the coffee table was badly scratched and covered with a placemat, the lampshade was moldy, and every mosquito net was torn. The shower column was broken, so the head couldn’t be hung; we were told a replacement was on order. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy it... The inventory clearly hadn’t been checked before we arrived: 15 plates, 6 knives, 7 forks, 8 champagne glasses, just 1 wine glass, and other missing items. Some dishes were dirty, too. There was algae at the bottom of the pool. Given the high temperatures and practically nonexistent filtration, that part was understandable. Such a shame, there’s a lot of potential here.
