You’ll need a car both to reach this quiet spot and to get around the nearby towns and villages. It’s tucked between the Côte d'Azur and the southern edge of the Alps, amid vineyards and pine forests, with stunning mountain views at sunset. The houses are well kept and equipped with what you need for a comfortable stay. There are plenty of supermarkets nearby if you like to cook. The setting suits families with children and older couples especially well, though younger visitors can find activities close by too. Book early for very competitive rates. A cold beer at sunset goes nicely with the peaceful atmosphere.

The room had a pretty unpleasant smell when we checked in. We were told dinner started at 7:30, waited until then, and were sent away very rudely. They said only two people were working and they wouldn’t take more than four tables, even though we were paying hotel guests. On checkout day, one cleaner entered without knocking and spoke only French, in a way I found very aggressive. Then a second cleaner came into the room while I was in my underwear; I asked her not to come in and to leave me alone. A third staff member, a man, also came in while I was still in my underwear. First and last time staying here. The service is so bad.

I called ten times and emailed to book the restaurant, but nobody answered or replied. When we arrived, there wasn’t a table because we didn’t have a reservation. Funny how that works, but it really sucks. The service was the worst.

We had a nice lunch at the Golf club, even though it was pouring rain. The place was beautiful.

The golf course is beautiful and challenging, but the restaurant is awful. The service felt unprofessional and inattentive, the food quality was extremely low, and the portions were small for the high prices. I’d skip the meal, but order champagne and enjoy those gorgeous views.
