The apartment itself, no. 223, was basic, cold, and small, though staying two people in a five-person unit worked out fine. The Résidence could use an update. Sara was a great host and helped with anything she could. The location in the haut village was great, right on the slopes.
It’s basic economy accommodation, but good value. The rooms are small and simple, yet warm and comfortable, with what you need. The location is handy too, right by the slope and close to the Spar shop.
Really cozy, with ski-in/ski-out access. Cheap and cheerful.
The view from room 519 is incredible, though the terrace feels exposed. You can see into the neighbors’ apartments, and they can see into yours, without leaning over. A screen between terraces would help. The residence has a lift, but no outdoor parking, so you have to use the upper Belle Plagne parking lot. It’s a shame there’s no laundry facility. Christine at reception was kind and welcoming.
Belle Plagne is a great resort, but the accommodation problems made this a very expensive holiday. We only learned on arrival that there were no parking spaces, a real hassle there. The booking email said the Maeva agency opened at 2 pm, then we arrived after six hours in traffic and saw it listed as 4 pm. Someone finally turned up around 3 pm. One of the two lifts was out of order while everyone was arriving to unload. They wouldn’t provide a spare key, even though it costs €10. I was told, "that's just how it is." The company discount didn’t feel like a discount once the extras were added. The double duvet option was actually a double sheet that only covered about two-thirds of it, outrageous for a paid extra. My friends staying with Maeva had the same issue. I’ll probably return to Belle Plagne, but not with Maeva.
