Les Aubepines

We had trouble finding the guesthouse since the GPS stopped further down the road, and the directions could be clearer. You end up at an alley that's quite uneven and poorly maintained. Still, it's a quiet, peaceful spot, the price is very affordable, and breakfast was just right, not too heavy. We would gladly return despite a few inconveniences. The welcome from Mr. and Mrs. [Last Name] was warm, and they were very friendly. Our room was average. There was no hot water on departure day, so we had to shower cold, and the insulation was lacking. The lighting also wasn't bright enough for the whole room. On arrival, the sliding bathroom door had a problem, and Mr. [Last Name] had to fix it so we could close it to shower.

The location worked wonderfully for hikes to the Trou de Fer and the volcano. Afterward, we really enjoyed dinner on the flower-filled veranda with the complimentary rum punch. The owner was very welcoming, and both the room and garden were lovely and peaceful.

The evening meals were really good, and the atmosphere felt just as welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, too. A very warm welcome awaits you at this bed and breakfast!

Pierre's brandy and Ginette's tart were great, and the owners are charming and friendly. It's simple but functional and good value for money. We'll be back!
