It’s a lovely place, with a cozy room and views of the surrounding mountains. But the new owners seemed a bit cheap with the food. At breakfast there wasn’t enough for all the guests. We hadn’t eaten much, yet I was still hungry when I left. When another guest asked for more, the owner said there was none left and that he was on vacation too. That felt like a strange response from a host.

A perfect base for outdoor activities, with nicely decorated rooms that had everything we needed. The food was the best we’ve had in five years of visiting La Réunion, and the hosts were so kind. Garfield was very sweet and patient with our 3y old daughter. Absolutely wonderful!

Sandy and Nicolas, the owners and managers, were welcoming, helpful, and incredibly friendly. The service was outstanding, and the house, garden, and location were all beautiful. This place is a real gem, and I can’t recommend staying here enough. Their home cooked dinner was great too. No need to worry about pre-ordering, it’s definitely the best in town.

We stayed five days at L'Échelle and will definitely come back. The hosts were warm throughout, gave us great tips for activities and hikes, and shared things about Creole culture. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and so were the bathrooms. Special mention to the cooks for the delicious ti' punch. We recommend this place.

The hosts were really friendly, and we had a wonderful, convivial stay. The meal was generous and delicious. Our room was comfortable and pleasant, and the peaceful setting with its beautiful garden made it an excellent bed and breakfast. Highly recommend!
