Le Perigord

The shower was very pretty but a little blocked, though it didn't cause us any trouble. The rooms were nice, and the staff made my family feel welcome during our one-night stay. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, like something from a fairy tale. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone passing through.

We spent one night here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room cost a reasonable 99 euro, and we chose half board. We relaxed in the sun by the pool and had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The room was lovely, the food was great, and the staff were lovely too. The grounds are so immaculate that not a blade of grass seems out of place, and it's clear someone has invested a lot in the hotel. We first spotted it from Domme, where the view of this fabulous hotel in the valley made us want to stay. I can't recommend it enough.

It's a clean, nice hotel, though it feels out in the middle of nowhere. If you're vegetarian, be ready to leave hungry and frustrated. The chef seemed to have neither the know-how nor the desire to make a vegetarian meal. We stayed two nights, so there was time to prepare something for the second evening, but we were served the same poor dish again. The hotel's response wasn't satisfying.

The evening meals were superb, with delicious, delicately flavored dishes and an interesting amuse bouche each time. The chef is excellent, and half board turned out to be very good value. Our hosts, Patrick and Raffaella Freuburghaus, were so friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. The refurbished room we booked was convenient and comfortable. We'll certainly recommend Hotel Le Perigord to our friends. Thank you!
