Move on. The owners give a polished welcome and talk about trust, but seem careful to keep things out of writing. There was no inventory when we arrived. They took a €300 credit card imprint and asked us to arrange a departure time, then told us to leave the keys in the lockbox. When I asked for proof that the card imprint had been cancelled, they didn’t answer my calls or texts. It left me worried the €300 might be charged, so I felt unable to leave a negative review. I don’t think the owners are honest. We rented the cottage. It looked clean at first, but there was dust on the air conditioners and in the bathroom, moldy grout, and clogged pipes that we had to clear ourselves. We also found Knacki sausages in the microwave, left by previous guests. Upstairs, only one of the three air conditioners worked. The listing says Sablettes beach is 10 minutes away, but it’s another 15-minute drive.

There was no self-reflection, just a well-practised pitch. The apartment was filthy and in poor repair, with grout so caked in dirt and grease it seemed beyond fixing. Half the ceiling lights were missing. They asked for a deposit when we arrived, but didn’t do an inventory when we left and never returned it. A complete scam and a total lack of respect. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Everything is close by: the port of La Seyne-sur-Mer, the market, and supermarkets are all about a five-minute walk away. The owner was very accommodating, the price was reasonable, and you can cook in the accommodation if you want.
