Hotel de Pen Bron

This is a quiet, peaceful spot on the Pen Bron peninsula, and well worth visiting. The hotel is generally in good shape and thoughtfully arranged, especially for wheelchair users, with automatic doors in public areas, powered doors, and wet rooms in many accommodations. Some of the exterior could use a little care. There’s an old hospital nearby that feels a bit ominous and is visibly run down in places, though it only slightly affects the hotel’s surroundings. It was due to close in September 2016, and a hotel project there seemed like a real possibility, but it was hard to know what that would mean for Hotel De Pen Bron. The hotel is in an idyllic location, with lovely, very helpful staff and an excellent restaurant. It’s clean and well appointed, and the large bathrooms have a shower, bath, and sauna. Family suites work well for four, with a separate room and TV for the children. The hotel is very family oriented. The nearby beaches are okay and popular with locals, but they’re small. A short walk along the western side of the peninsula takes you to stretches of beautiful sandy beach, eventually reaching La Turballe, where there are other nice meal options. You can also take a short ferry across the bay from Le Croisic, which has lots of little shops and restaurants.

A breathtaking little piece of heaven, ideal for a quiet romantic break away from the crowds.

The room has an electronically adjustable bed, and you can open the door with a button on the wall. There’s also a camera on the roof, which is a bit strange. I think the place used to be a hospital.
