After a long day of hiking, it was great to have the option of eating in the room. There were appetizer and main course choices that were both vegetarian and gluten free, ready to heat in the microwave. The room also had a kettle for making your own herbal tea. Breakfast was nice too. The room had a lovely, very recent design and was spotless. The hotel seemed fully booked even on an ordinary weekday outside the holiday season, which says something about its value.

The bedroom had a great view, and there was parking available. The hotel felt secure, was very clean, and the staff were friendly. Good continental breakfast too.

Even though I booked late and didn’t get the wonderful sea view, “La Rieuse” was perfect. It’s renovated to a very high standard, with clever use of space and a chic, delightful feel. Breakfast was brilliant as usual, far better than at most French hotels, and the welcome was exceptional as always. This is a hotel I’d happily return to again and again. I wonder why the tourist guides don’t rate La Turballe more highly. Watching the fishing boats return at daybreak is more impressive than in Guilvinec, and the beach and walk along the seafront are very attractive. There are excellent restaurants and cafés too. My sincere thanks to the couple who run the hotel so brilliantly and with such an exceptional human touch.
