Le Versailles

The good things: friendly, accommodating staff, a clean property and room, and a quiet room. Ours on the fifth floor was a good size. The breakfast buffet was good, the elevator worked well though it’s tiny, and the Palace and restaurants are within walking distance. Water pressure was good in the sink and bathtub, and there was a small refrigerator. The tub has the usual high sides and no grab bars, which makes it dangerous. Room lighting was poor, and the Wi-Fi kept disappearing. We’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels from one to five stars, and we’d gladly stay at this very nice hotel near the Palace of Versailles again.

The rooms are beautifully decorated, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The Palace is right across the road, so the location is amazing.

The junior suite had a good view, a king-size bed that was very comfortable, and a perfect room design. Everything else was clean, comfortable, and lovely too. The toilet seat was a little wobbly, but that was the only issue in the bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from, and the welcoming service was very nice. Nights were quiet with nothing to disturb us. The hotel is only five minutes from Versailles. It has parking for 20 euros or more, but if you arrive on Sunday, it’s better to leave the car on the street, where it’s free until 9.00 Monday.

The staff were a delight, and our room was beautiful. The hotel is right by the Versailles Palace but tucked away on a side street, so we didn’t hear or see the crowds of tourists heading there. We were sorry to stay only one night.
