La Colline de Boutiès - Gîte

Finally got to live out a childhood dream.

Waking up to birdsong and soft sunshine each morning was such a treat. We stayed in the hobbit house for a night during the May long weekend, and loved the warm welcome and the incredible room tucked away in the middle of the forest. The Bouties Hills made for a peaceful escape, and everything we needed was there and easy to access. We even watched Lord of the Rings, which we'd recorded before the trip. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend it.

Finding the place at night was a bit tricky, since the way in isn't signposted very clearly. The cabin itself was clean, quiet, and already warm when we arrived, which we appreciated. There's no running water or shower in the accommodation, though the shared bathroom by the pool was clean and well kept. Breakfast didn't quite match the menu: a few things were missing and some others cost extra. It wasn't a problem, though. Our four-year-old daughter barely ate, while my husband had a good appetite. Thanks for your reply. I just wanted to describe our experience honestly and offer useful feedback for future visitors. The cabin was clean, quiet, and heated when we arrived, with the particular features of this unusual accommodation, including no shower inside, and access was somewhat difficult at night.

The owners gave us such a warm, personal welcome that we felt like royalty among the trees. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed to feel at home, with lovely views across the forest from this idyllic spot. We had an absolutely wonderful night up in the trees. It's a unique, unforgettable place for a family break or a romantic escape, and a chance to reconnect with nature and make lasting memories. Five stars, without hesitation!
