The people at Le Lac Bleu were friendly and helpful, and the renovated house we stayed in was modern, up to date, and air-conditioned on both floors. It really felt like a home away from home. One odd thing: each of the two large rooms has a toilet behind a wall, but it still doesn’t feel very private. The park sits on the edge of Lacapelle Marieval, with good options for hiking and biking. Beyond that, there isn’t much nearby, and seeing the area means long drives. The town has a few fast-food choices but not a lot else. The area felt rather abandoned, with tired people around, and could use some energy.

The furniture was comfortable and modern, and the houses are roomy with everything you need to cook. We had a small issue with the towels when we arrived, but it got sorted out. The place was clean overall. A screen upstairs between the bathroom and bedroom would be a good addition.

It’s peaceful here, with shops just a five-minute drive away. The welcome was very warm, and I’ve rarely stayed somewhere this clean. We highly recommend it!

The cottage and pool were fine, but our June stay at Le Lac Bleu for two weeks was disappointing overall. The terrace felt downright dangerous: with my visually impaired partner, one wrong step could mean a two-meter fall. The pool was lovely, though the cleaning robot spent half the time in the water. There was also quite a lot of noise from construction around the park. With so few cottages occupied, I’d expected more contact with the owner. A year earlier, Ann and Erwin, the very friendly owners at the France Comfort Vacances de Cigales park, had given us a real holiday feeling. At Le Lac Bleu, I was confused by an invoice that said everything was paid and showed 0 euros outstanding, yet we had to pay 433 euros on arrival. That’s not France Comfort’s fault, I may have misread it, but it was genuinely unclear, with charges for 2x dog, cleaning, sheets, and so on. We’re going back to L'Espinet by France Comfort for two weeks in September, hoping for more of a holiday feeling. Kind regards, Frans
