Dinner was a real highlight: the food was modern, beautifully presented, and delicious, and breakfast was great too. The staff across both reception and service were polite, professional, and quick to help. They even offered to look after our newborn during dinner so we could enjoy the meal. Our room was spacious, very clean, quiet, and comfortable. They'd thought of the little things for our son too, with a cot, changing table, tiny robe, and slippers. It was one of the best hotel and chateau stays we've had, and we’ll remember it for a long time. We’ll definitely be back.

One evening the staff arranged a babysitter and a private room for the children, so we could have dinner in the restaurant on our own. The kids loved their meal. The staff were thoughtful throughout, from children's bathrobes and a bowl of candy on arrival to cookies or fresh apricots in the room for afternoon tea and chocolates on the pillows each night. Those chocolates are still what the kids talk about. The restaurant was a memorable experience, with wonderful food and a beautiful river view. The hotel feels peaceful even when full; a few times we had the pool to ourselves, as if the big castle were ours alone. Breakfast was delicious, though quite expensive. It’s a beautiful, special place, and we hope to return. A note for families: the staff did their best to make us comfortable, but I wouldn't call it especially kid-friendly. French children seemed impeccably behaved, sitting quietly through long meals, eating everything, and barely making a sound. If your kids are like ours, boisterous and bouncy, I probably wouldn't recommend it as a family hotel, even though there were other children staying. We’ve never stayed anywhere nicer, and the staff made the visit feel special.

The hotel lives up to its reputation, with friendly, kind staff, beautiful grounds, and very tasty food. The property is huge, and the evening lights make it lovely to walk around. Just keep in mind that it’s a bit removed from the area's main attractions. It seems best suited to guests who want to relax and enjoy the amenities, rather than spend their time visiting regional sights.

The breakfasts are wonderful, and dinner is exceptional if you stay here. The manager, owner, and other staff are friendly, helpful, and available. The setting is spectacular, though it’s a little distant from the main tourist sites.

We really enjoyed the attentive, meticulous service during our stay. The property is large and has real historical value, and we had an excellent time there.
