Hotel Restaurant Le Bardiere

We only ate at the restaurant, we didn't stay at the hotel. In summer, allow 10-15 minutes to find parking. It's a historic village and spaces are hard to come by. We sat on the terrace on a sunny August day. Since Laguiole is high up on the Aubrac plateau, the temperature was just right. There isn't a view from the terrace, and dogs are allowed, so our Goldendoodle came along. I started with the burrata mousse, beet purée, peas, chickpeas, and crispy chips. It was divine, with a lovely mix of sweet, savoury, and crunchy. The steak with puréed carrots was great, too. For dessert, I had fresh apricots with rice pudding, whipped cream, crispy sweet sesame brittle, and red currant sorbet, beautifully presented. My husband ordered the cheese plate, including local Laguiole cheese and sheep cheeses. It looked delicious, but I was too full to try any. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone after a gourmet meal in Laguiole.

After a long drive from Paris toward the south coast, I stopped here for the night. The owners were incredibly hospitable and lovely, and the restaurant was amazing. I can't recommend it enough!

The owner was kind and welcoming, and the small hotel has a familiar, cozy feel. Its kitchen is phenomenal. We only got to eat there once, but the meal was delicious. Rooms are reasonably priced and perfectly adequate if you travel actively. If you depend on the services and amenities of a big hotel, this small place may not suit you. Book dinner early. We saw people arrive and leave because it was fully booked. Parking in town is tricky, and you'll need to pack light since there's no elevator.

This is about the restaurant only. I was new to the area and wanted somewhere really good to bring friends and family. Google's 4.8 rating helped me choose, and I wasn't disappointed. There's no menu, just a set menu, which is a nice chance to try something beyond the usual classic dishes. Between us, we sampled almost everything on it, and everyone left VERY satisfied. The only small drawbacks are a bit of a wait to start eating, because everything is prepared fresh, and the limited choice of daily specials. The person serving was very friendly. From what I could see, the restaurant seats around 25 people. A really good choice and a nice change from the usual.
