Château Malescasse

We had a lovely stay here for two nights. The castle can be booked entirely for a group, and it works especially well for small groups of eight. Our room looked out over the vineyard, and the design inside is modern. Service was impeccable, the food and wine delicious, and there was plenty to do nearby. Thanks so much to Camille for making the stay such a pleasure!

We arrived with an organised trip, but the chateau wasn't ready for us and seemed poorly organised. With around 50 people in the group, we couldn't hear the guide on the wine tour. It lasted only about 10 minutes, and she had no headset. At the tasting, everyone was crowded around one table, five people deep, and we had to push in to get a glass. The second pour went into the same glass, and there was no water. I've been to several wine tastings, and this was completely unsatisfactory. I wouldn't recommend it.

It must be 30 years since I first found the chateau. A lovely lady invited us into the kitchen for a taste, and when we heard an angry growl from the cellar, she went down to investigate. Five seconds later she came back smiling and carried on with the tasting. We bought two cases! A lovely castle with lovely people, and oh, the wine was fantastic!

We had a fantastic afternoon at Chateau Malescasse. The staff were kind and knew their stuff. After a quick tour, we got to make our own wine, then wrapped up with a nice tasting. Had the best time!
