La Spatule

That snowy view from our room was the one thing that made this stay worthwhile. We arrived at the end of January 2021 after a rainy, freezing day, and came early because of the weather. The room was dark and had no heating. Maybe the gloom helped hide how awful the decor was. Opening the shutters brought a lovely surprise: snow everywhere and a splendid view. The other surprise was a huge number of flies bursting out of the window. Some got into the room, and we had to kill them. Seeing that in February was especially unexpected. We'd ordered dinner from the hotel, but there wasn't a drinking glass, so we had to use the bathroom cups. There was no water carafe either, meaning we had to pay for a bottle or drink from the bathroom tap. The place looked so pleasant from outside. What a shame, at least we had the view.

We ate very well at the restaurant, and the staff there were lovely, always smiling. Breakfast was generous, too, served in a very nice room. The welcome was warm, and our clean room was nicely arranged, with excellent bedding that helped us sleep really well. The bathroom was clean as well, though small and in need of an update. We'd happily come back to the hotel and restaurant.

The shower hadn't been cleaned when we got there, so it seems that was simply overlooked. Apart from that, we had a lovely, quiet room with a balcony and magnificent view. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the price was reasonable. We stayed one night.

The staff were friendly and the hotel had a peaceful feel. We really enjoyed looking out at the slopes in winter, and the cross-country ski trails are only a few steps away. Breakfast was an excellent traditional continental one, with some local products. The restaurant also serves very good traditional Jura food. A lovely hotel.
