Les Maritonnes Park & Vineyard

The spa was fantastic, and I’d consider staying again, but only in a premium room. My friends had one and loved it. We booked a room for three, but ours was just okay: the shower was dirty and the toilet badly stained. The old part of the hotel also seemed to have no soundproofing, with creaky floorboards and paper-thin walls. Other guests came back around 1 a.m. and were noisy for over two hours. I finally slept at 4 a.m., then had to get up at 6 for the Beaujolais marathon.

The room I had with a double bed was small, but it came with robes and lots of little extras, including a shower cap, nail care items, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. There was also a mini fridge and air conditioning. I liked that there was a spa for facials and massages, plus a lap pool, and breakfast had a good range of options. The one letdown was that the only coffee was regular, with no espresso or cappuccino. I’d definitely return and stay longer to enjoy more of what they offer.

The restaurant has either an à la carte option or the day's menu, and there's a good selection of wines. The garden is beautiful and very well kept. Rooms are clean, though not especially large. The TV only had French channels, and I couldn't easily find the WiFi network to get free internet access.

We used this as a base for a couple of nights while exploring nearby towns. The grounds and pool were well maintained, and the room was clean. There’s also a good restaurant on site, with friendly service. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.
