Au Figuier du Gué

A great spot for recharging, with the Nantes-Brest canal close by. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, and Isabelle and Didier's breakfasts were a real treat.

The communal kitchen was a nice place to talk with other guests, or just have a quiet snack. The grounds are lovely, and the pool is especially welcome on a hot day. Our car was parked safely, too. We found the owners warm and attentive. The room was comfortable, spacious, and clean, and breakfast was homemade and more than generous. The location worked well for us, around an hour from all the main tourist sights while letting us avoid the crowds. We had a lovely stay and will keep the address for another visit. Best wishes.

We'd happily come back. Isabelle and Didier were very attentive, and always had good suggestions for places to see, walks, and restaurants. We had a very pleasant stay, and the breakfast was excellent.

After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed apple juice from the orchard, freshly picked tomatoes, and homemade jams. Sometimes there are flavors from further afield too, including a delicious Spanish mandarin jam. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and welcoming. Common areas are great for playing games or relaxing, and there's room to read beneath a tree, wander around the garden, or cross paths with people coming back from the pool. The village sits between the legends of Brocéliande and the Breton coast. Pretty hens, geese, rabbits, a neighbor's cat, and magical creatures called Gribouille and Tambouille seem to rule the place. The enchanter Didier trains them, while the barefoot fairy Isabelle keeps watch. They're always scampering about. It's a wonderful place, though you could almost miss the entrance, so go with little hesitation. Isabelle and Didier, thank you for the journey to Figuier du Gué and such lovely company. There, all is order and beauty, calm, luxury and pleasure.
