Getting into the flat was a problem from the start. We kept the owner updated about our arrival time all day, but he still didn't answer when we got there. People at the local bar tried calling him too, without success, then contacted someone who sometimes helps him. When that man arrived, he seemed completely out of it. I couldn't tell whether he was ill or high. The place itself was hot, stuffy, smelly, and unhygienic. The shower head looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in months, and the household linens seemed unwashed for years. Old doesn't automatically mean charming :) It was an unpleasant stay.

The welcome was friendly and efficient, and the Diderot house was very well kept, with lovely decor. We were there in late December, right in the center, yet it was quiet, and the view was magnificent. One small thing that could be better: the cups and bowls at breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay. The room felt cozy and welcoming, with period decor, and it was completely quiet. The setting and view were magnificent, and requests got a quick response. My one small complaint is that I found the mattress too firm.

We had a great time staying in this beautiful village and getting a feel for local life. The apartment has a living room, kitchen, main bedroom, and bathroom, plus a sofa, so three people could stay comfortably. I especially liked the desk and all the little decorative objects. The views are lovely, and the famous stars were clearly visible from the kitchen window, as pictured. There isn't a reception desk, but email and phone replies were immediate and easy, so we had no trouble. The elderly owner and his grandson helped us a lot when we struggled to find the place at first. Just call as you're about to arrive. There's no elevator. Parking at the village public lot is free, and laundry and drying were available for 10 euros. I was a little confused when booking, but it turned out we had the whole apartment.
