Mercure Dinan Port Le Jerzual

My overnight stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The clean, comfortable room had tea and coffee facilities and a shower in the bathroom. Breakfast is served in the restaurant across the river, with a good range to choose from. Free parking is plentiful behind the hotel, reached by driving along the Quay towards it. The hotel sits on the Rance quayside below historic Dinan. The staff gave me a warm welcome, explained everything I needed to know, and recommended a restaurant when I asked. There are several along the quayside.

We enjoyed the hotel facilities during our overnight stay because the latest checkout was at midday. The Jacuzzi was lovely and warm, and I think the fitness room and Jacuzzi were open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the pool from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The public areas were spacious and well furnished, with good service at the bar. All the staff we met were truly hospitable and helpful. The riverside setting was delightful, scenic, and handy for exploring the countryside or town on foot. You can hire electric boats on the opposite bank. The Mercure Dinan felt like a cocoon of loveliness. It was the nicest place we stayed on our motorcycle tour, and probably the most expensive, even though we had a standard room. The restaurant serves breakfast only, but there are plenty of dinner options within easy walking distance. Breakfast was very good, with lots of choice at the spacious buffet counters. Our bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean, comfortable, and well designed and functional. My one minor complaint is that they should provide bigger mugs for tea and coffee. The car park has a security barrier, but there isn't dedicated motorcycle parking, so you have to park among the cars on smooth tarmac. Luckily, we found a corner spot near a rear entrance.

The setting beside the Rance river was beautiful and quiet, and breakfast was amazing. There's no dinner restaurant at the hotel, but plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby with fair prices.

We had a wonderful four-day stay at the Hôtel Mercure Dinan Port Le Jerzual and couldn't fault anything from arrival through departure. The friendly staff were always smiling and ready with helpful advice, and the cleaners clearly work hard to keep the place in impeccable shape. Secure on-site parking was a big relief, and the pool was a lovely way to unwind after sightseeing. The breakfast was a highlight, with a huge, delicious selection to start each day. The hotel doesn't serve evening meals, but that wasn't a problem for us. There are great places to eat a short walk away, both along the river and up in town, and we enjoyed trying the local restaurants and boulangeries at our own pace. The location right by the river is incredible, with picturesque views and charming restaurants and an excellent boulangerie just minutes away on foot. It made an ideal base for exploring Dinan. We can't wait to return and will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
