Chambres Boufflet

Our room was light and clean, and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. They even let us bring our motorbikes into reception. A fabulous hotel, and we'd definitely recommend staying here.

We arrived by bike with four kids after booking and paying for two rooms through Expedia, but the owner said the hotel was full and refused to let us in, claiming our reservation wasn't valid. He wouldn't give us anything in writing to confirm we were turned away, which made it very hard to get our advance payment back. The next morning, when we were trying to sort things out, the owner became very aggressive and said, "I throw you out." Later, while we were pursuing a refund through Expedia, he claimed we'd spent the night at the hotel so he could keep the money. This was an extremely bad experience in July 2018. We found the owners, a man and wife, unfair, dishonest, and aggressive.

I regret booking this room. There was dirt everywhere, and the linens smelled strongly of perfume and the previous guest's sweat. The toilet brush was sitting in the toilet, so I had to pull it out while it was wet before I could use it. A horrible experience.

Laon is a beautiful town, and this place is right in its lively center. Our host gave us a very warm welcome. The room was simple but very clean, making it a great stopover, though Laon is worth visiting in its own right too.
