Domaine du Champ de l'Hoste

The owners were friendly, professional, and always helpful, and the hotel itself is attractive, peaceful, and well renovated. Breakfast was satisfactory. There’s no air conditioning, which could be an issue when it’s hot, though the thick walls may keep things cool enough if you close the doors and windows during the day.

The hosts, Jacques and Hélène, were so lovely: welcoming and attentive, while still being discreet and respectful of everyone’s privacy. The Domaine du Champ de Lhoste is tucked between fields and forest, with a bridge in the distance that adds to the scenery. It’s so quiet there, with an almost magical feel, like Scotland or the world of Harry Potter. The cottages are in beautiful stone houses typical of the region. They’re cool inside, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean, with comfort clearly in mind. The rooms are spacious, the beds are firm and very comfortable, and the linen was spotless. The pebble walk-in showers are a real bonus. The large swimming pool is just a few steps from the rooms and is perfectly placed for relaxing in the countryside. I didn’t know this region before, but this place made me fall for it. It’s a real gem, and I’d be delighted to come back. Highly recommend!

The saltwater pool was fantastic, and breakfast was generous. We also appreciated having a shared kitchen that worked well for everyday use. Hélène and Jacques were kind, welcoming, and discreet, and the suites have been renovated with great taste. We had a very pleasant stay in this peaceful corner of the Périgord countryside. Breakfast by the pool was a lovely way to start the day, and dinner on the terrace was a real treat. We stayed one night in the room on the garden side and also enjoyed massages and the jacuzzi. Sylvain and Martine were incredible, attentive hosts. Bravo, and 1000 thanks for a magical stay.
