Green Hôtels Bordeaux Arena

We ended up here for nine nights while our Camping car was being repaired in Latresne, after our European breakdown assistance arranged the booking. Even with that stress, we had a very good stay and thought it was excellent value. The staff were friendly and supportive, and they even stored our bikes in a secure room overnight. The hotel sits beside a lovely green cycle path on an old railway, so we got out riding most days. Cafes, restaurants, shops and banks are along the route, including Lidl, Carrefour and a large boulangerie in Latresne. It’s a 10-minute walk to the bus stop, then 15 minutes to Bordeaux, with a return ticket costing 4.5 euros. Our twin room was spacious and comfortable, with outdoor space to sit, and we slept well. Breakfast was good. The evening food is basic and self-service, heated in a microwave, but the quality was good. The place was clean throughout and nothing seemed too much trouble. My only small complaint is that the bedroom doors slam loudly at night when people come back late and don’t close them gently.

A sensible choice for another visit to the area. The room and bathroom were spacious, parking was available, and everything was very clean for a reasonable price.

The location was handy, close to everything, and the staff were courteous and genuinely helpful. I had a very pleasant stay.

The free on-site parking was useful, and the room had a large-screen TV, a clean fridge and a small outdoor sitting area. It was quirky and mostly clean, though there were a few spider webs that showed up at night. We stayed in room 15, which smelled a bit like wee. There was mould around the shower base, and when you flushed the toilet the water rose quite high, almost as if it were blocked. The reception staff were helpful, but our booking.com payment showed as unpaid in their system, both when we arrived and again at checkout. There may be an issue with the system, so bring proof of payment. Luckily, we had it on our phones. From outside, the hotel looked run down at first, but the car park area looked much nicer. The main reason I wouldn’t stay again is the location. We arrived around 9:30pm, and since it’s about a 30-minute drive from town, nothing nearby was open and finding food was difficult. We’d have preferred somewhere closer to the center.
