Le Clos Du Paradis

The hosts, Jérémi and Linda, live across from the apartments. They welcomed us warmly, were generous and attentive, and we were glad to meet them. Their little dog, Caillou, is adorable and part of the welcoming feel at Clos du Paradis. They have several plans for the place: a reception area, a pool and jacuzzi under construction, an outdoor bar, half-board, island tours, and a booking website alongside Booking.com. We wish them every success with it all. We chose a private-home apartment in Sainte Marie because we wanted to explore as much of Martinique as we could, and rented a car. The countryside location worked well for sightseeing, about an hour and a half from both the northern and southern Caribbean islands. The first-floor apartment was comfortable and unpretentious. We had breakfast on the balcony overlooking banana trees. The setting is lovely, and the balcony has chairs, a table, and a clothesline. Inside, the kitchen was fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, plenty of cupboards, and everything we needed. We cooked dinner there every evening. The living room and dining and TV areas were spotless, with plenty of room to move around and air conditioning available if needed. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. In the bedroom there’s a small desk, double bed, single bed, large wardrobe, and air conditioning. The beds are raised, so we could slide our three large empty suitcases underneath during the stay. After hiking in the forest and spending time at the beach, the washing machine was much appreciated. We went back to mainland France with clean clothes. There are shops, pharmacies, a beach, and the Banana Museum nearby. Martinique has all kinds of accommodation, from luxury hotels and holiday villages to villas, and we were happy with our choice. For us, the price was unbeatable, the location ideal, the hosts generous and available, the countryside peaceful, and they’re committed to improving the guest experience.
