Sophie made us feel right at home. The house was peaceful and relaxing, and we really enjoyed sharing dinner with another couple and having her there with us. We stayed for two days and everything suited us perfectly. I’d expected worse after reading the reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for such a warm welcome, Sophie.

We got a lovely, warm welcome and were kindly served a delicious dinner that hadn’t been planned in advance. Thanks for looking after us so well, and good luck as you keep painting those beautiful pictures.

The room could use more attention to the small things. There were cobwebs with spiders in them, no hairdryer in the bathroom, and both the shower curtain and window curtain were far too long, with one dragging in the shower tray and the other on the floor. One bathroom glass had a white mark and a hair at the bottom, and the room wasn’t very well insulated. My partner and I stayed for a weekend in June, and we came away with mixed feelings. We paid €25 per person for dinner on Friday and again on Saturday, €100 total. For that price the meals were simple and basic, and portions were only enough for one serving, so you shouldn’t arrive with a big appetite. On Saturday we ate with a very nice couple, but at 9 pm another guest spoke to us very rudely because he wanted to sleep, and the evening was cut short.

Meeting the two other couples was the one bright spot. We had stayed with this partner about four years ago, and there’s been no improvement. The meal wasn’t worth €25. It had nothing Aveyron about it, and the dish was inedible because it was much too salty. The complimentary chestnut liqueur aperitif wasn’t good either. Our room was clean, though there was a dead bedbug in it. The bedding itself was good. Breakfast came at the time we’d agreed on the day before, but it was a real disappointment: poor coffee, very little choice, and supermarket fruit juice, jams and butter. At this kind of accommodation, I’d usually expect delicious homemade jam. It was very basic, without even towels for drying your hands. Based on our other experiences, we could have expected a simpler breakfast. Be careful with your recommendations, as there’s competition. Our recommendation is to avoid it. Sorry, stay away.

The house is typical of the region, and the bedroom and bathroom were perfectly adequate. Dinner was simple but generous, prepared with care, and we loved sharing it with Sophie. She’s always smiling and welcoming, and clearly wants to make the stay special. Segezy is a little out of the way, but it’s lush and peaceful. The blue house feels a bit like a weekend at Aunt Sophie’s. P.S. She really should offer painting workshops! 😘
