The views from this amazing location are spectacular. The people who run and work at the hotel are absolutely lovely, and the bedrooms are spacious, tidy, and clean. The dining room and other shared spaces are decorated really nicely. The food was delicious, too.

The restaurant served generous portions of French and Creole dishes, and it was great. Our room was roomy and clean, with what seemed like a recently renovated, modern, practical bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the mountain view was excellent when the sky happened to be clear.

The setting is still beautiful, which makes the change in our restaurant experience especially sad. When we visited in June 2014, the main course seemed to have been made days earlier. It had little flavor and tasted reheated in a microwave. Dessert was too cold, and there was no wine list, just a choice of "red" or "white." The waitress said the chef was the same as the year before, when we had delicious meals and extraordinary wine. It felt as though he was cooking for the hotel guests and had forgotten the restaurant diners. So disappointing.

We loved the food so much we wanted to lick our plates. The service is relaxed, and the wait was absolutely worth it. For some of the best French food in a charming stone town, go here. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Monday dinner was excellent from start to finish. The starters, main course, and dessert were all great, but the Thé elixer de Mont Ventoux was even better.
