I was a little nervous after reading the reviews once we'd already booked, but we ended up pleasantly surprised. It's a good base for cycling and exploring, and the owner was friendly and helpful even though our French was limited. I'd happily stay again next time I'm back.

We were a big group sharing three rooms. After a long day of travel, the owner kindly let us leave our luggage in the restaurant and was very accommodating. My room was comfortable, I slept really well, and the shower was hot. Breakfast was good too, with croissants, bread and jam, juice, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. A pleasant stay.

Everything else was fine, but after we got back from our ride, we weren't allowed to use any of the facilities. That left a sour note. It seems we'd booked almost the last room available, and we paid accordingly. The hotel itself is fine.

The location is perfect for setting out to ride Alpe d Huez, but the owner wasn't kind. Even with all the rooms empty, he wouldn't let us extend our room by 30 minutes so we could shower after the ride.

The staircase is seriously dangerous. Fine for one night, though.
