Hotel Oberland

The town itself is lovely, with pretty streets and bars and restaurants just a few metres away. If you’re here for outdoor activities, the location is really convenient. There’s a secure bike shed with cleaning and servicing facilities, and the staff, rooms, and food were all good. Cycling, skiing, walking, river rafting, plenty to do around here.

The gardens were lovely, with places to sit in the shade, and the rooms were very nice and well equipped. They do lack air-conditioning and a TV, though. The location is great for cycling the nearby mountains, and there’s dedicated bike storage. Two younger staff members were very friendly and helpful, while some of the more mature staff could perhaps smile a little more. We had the set dinner both nights, and the food was very good, so I can’t comment on the menu. Recommended if you’re cycling in the area.

Our cycling club stayed here recently and the service was so friendly and amazing. Breakfast was just what we needed as cyclists, a really generous meal. We also had dinner on both nights, and it was delicious. Highly recommend this hotel.

We missed the shuttle to Vaujany by seconds on a cold February afternoon and ended up at Hotel L'Oberland. After a drink while we figured out what to do, the staff tried to help us get a taxi, and we eventually arranged a lift for later that evening. They let us relax in the lounge, and we booked a meal at the restaurant. The food was great, with vegetarian choices too, which I often have trouble finding. We didn’t see the bedrooms, but if they’re anything like the lounge, I’m sure they’re great. The staff really helped us out, and we were very grateful. Would recommend.
