Riders Apartments

We stayed in the top-floor apartment for 5 people. It was very nice and spacious enough for 5 adults, though getting up there means climbing 3 flights of stairs. The location worked well for our few days of skiing at Alpe d'Huez. The village is at the foot of the mountain, and the drive to the slopes takes only 20 minutes.

We booked in October for New Year's Eve with the family, and it was very expensive. We assumed the seasonal price reflected the service, but it didn't. Maybe some things are better in other seasons. There were eight of us, with exactly eight chairs, plates, and utensils. Each person got one large towel, but there were no hand towels. The rooms and the rest of the house had no wardrobes, and the lighting was insufficient. With temperatures at -10 outside, there wasn't enough electricity to run the heating properly. If we turned on the dishwasher, we couldn't use the kitchen, kettle, or coffee maker at the same time. The reservation gave a checkout time, but the owner insisted we leave an hour earlier. The cost felt disproportionate to what was provided.
