The bathrooms were fine, though a bit of a walk from where I pitched my tent. Helpful staff checked me in and gave me a discount as a cyclist. Les Jardins de l’Abbaye is really a campground on a grassy, terraced hillside with trees, rather than a garden. It was pleasant and very close to the center of Cadouin. There seemed to be few guests, and many of the little rental houses looked empty. The pool appeared to be open, but I didn't see anyone using it, and the on-site restaurant was closed. The abbey is well worth seeing for its beauty, and you can get an audio guide or printed description of its history and artistry. The church next to it has an unusual wooden clocktower with loud bells that ring out the time, though thankfully they stop at night.

The couple who run this little campsite are friendly and helpful. They speak English and took our mangled French in stride, with amusement and grace. There are sweet little mobile homes if you're over sleeping in a tent, all in a delightful spot in Cadouin. This part of France is stunning, and Bergerac airport is only 40 minutes away. If you're after a budget stay in this beautiful area, you can't go far wrong here.

La Grappe de Cyrano was such a peaceful little campsite, a real corner of paradise. Thanks so much to the very friendly managers for looking after us during our two days there.

The manager was super friendly, and the pool was lovely. We also liked how shady, quiet, and well looked after the campsite was. It’s a great little place, just 300m from the centre of Cadouin, near the abbey church and its cloister.
