Breakfast set us up well each morning, with local produce and delicious coffee roasted nearby. We also spent hours by the sparkling pool, played pétanque in the garden, and found the place so peaceful that we added an extra night. The château sits in a lovely French village, with Saumur and Montreuil-Bellay just a short drive away. Stéphanie welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived, and we felt at home right away. Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the grounds and gardens were gorgeous. It was unusually hot during our stay, and there’s no air conditioning. We were given a fan. If you need air conditioning and all the modern comforts, a bland hotel may suit you better. We were happy to relax and enjoy the summer, and it was well worth it. Everything about our stay felt just right, and we’d love to come back.

The host was fab, and breakfast was wonderful every day. We loved the comfortable stay and the castle-like atmosphere. There was plenty to do: we swam often and played board games in the sun on the terrace. We wandered around the supercute village, went to Saumur for the Saturday market and picked up lunch and cheeses for an easy dinner in the B&B garden. We also visited the family park, which had great rides for kids aged 3-10, and several nearby castles. Angers was good for shopping, and we had an amazing dinner at restaurant auberge des isles, idyllically set in nature at the foot of a castle in a nearby village.

We didn’t get a chance to try the pool, so maybe next time. The hosts were very welcoming and happy to suggest things to do and places to go. Our bedroom was in a lovely building, with tasteful decor, lots of space, and a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The château was so elegant, and the owners were kind and attentive. Breakfast was amazing too. This was our best stay of the year, and we loved it so much that we’ll be back!
