Auberge de la Dune

We happened upon the place while passing through and stopped for lunch just as they were closing. The staff still welcomed us warmly. Both dishes, the duck and the ray, were fantastic, and their homemade rum with chilli was a great finish.

A little roadside spot that didn’t look like much at first, so the food and service were a great surprise. Definitely worth a visit, highly recommended.

We were greeted warmly, and things have been great ever since. Our room was clean and the food was really good.

The Dune is in a delightful setting and handy for seeing the sights. We had three nights in single rooms, with good food and good rooms. I’d love to return, but only with my wife, who speaks French. Our stay was marred by the waitress’s attitude. She was extremely impatient because we didn’t speak good French, even though she spoke English. Our table was laid with the knives and forks on the wrong sides, and we didn’t get the appetiser that other customers received. I know it can be difficult, but the customer should come first. She did seem to realize afterward that she’d gone too far. The owner wasn’t there that evening, which was noticeable.
