Grand Hôtel De La Gare

Nothing to report.

We spent two nights here, on January 26th and 27th. The hotel keeps its original charm, and the rooms were very clean and quiet. The owners were extremely kind and gave us a lovely welcome. Breakfast was generous, with coffee available as much as you wanted. Thank you! Dominique Linlaud

The bed linen was spotless, and being right across from the train station was handy for my very early train. That's why I'm giving it two stars. Otherwise, the place needs a major overhaul. The carpets, paint, furniture and bathroom all feel dated, and the towels were basic and questionable. My room smelled of cigarettes, and the walls were so thin I could talk to my neighbor through the partition.

We went in December, and the hotel had switched off the heating because it didn't have enough guests. It was freezing, and the space heater couldn't warm the room, so we were cold all night. There was no reception. The café downstairs handed us the keys, and the staff there were very unfriendly. The bathroom was disgusting, with a yellow towel and a dirty toilet. We didn't even wash. Our room wouldn't lock either, so we had to brace the door with a chair at night. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. I still can't believe the service was so appalling. It felt like a rip-off. Choose somewhere else, even if it's farther from the train station, for better value.
