That terrace is the highlight, with incredible views across the baia de Somme. It’s a great place for a cold local beer on a hot day, though they don’t serve food out there. The hotel itself is beautiful and feels like a landmark, and the restaurant offers fine dining with white tablecloth service.

Ants were all over the bed, under the blankets and cushions, and throughout the bathroom. It looked like a serious infestation. That was the worst part of an already awful stay, and there was no apology or offer of a discount. It was a stressful end to our holiday, and I’ll never stay there again or recommend it. The host’s treatment was disgusting. We expected a good hotel based on the reviews, but nobody showed us to our room. There was no air conditioning, no refreshments despite the heatwave, and no view. By the time we found the ants, the staff had gone home. The night watchman moved us to an attic room, three flights up under the roof, also without air conditioning or refreshments. It was unbearable, so all we had was a table fan and tap water. I still have the image of ants crawling in my bed in my mind. So bad.

The restaurant menu is short, but what we tried was tasty, and breakfast was excellent quality with plenty of local ingredients. The staff were friendly, and the simple rooms were cute. I’d suggest adding allergen information to the menu and swapping the bathroom soap dispensers for something a little more elegant. There are large living rooms and a sweet garden where you can read, play board games, or just relax. The place feels like it belongs to another era, right across from the sea. A really lovely hotel.

The rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms even more so. The toilets were too high and awkward because there was so little space. In our bathroom, the sliding door wouldn’t close properly, and other bathrooms apparently have big gaps. We ended up using the toilets in the corridor. There was only one towel hook, and it was very high. The menu was also very limited, with just one vegetarian choice. I came hoping for a quiet weekend, but kids were screaming and running around after dinner and early in the morning. If you want a peaceful night’s sleep or a romantic weekend, this isn’t the place. The weekend was ruined for me. When we paid, nobody asked how the stay had been, which was disappointing. You’re paying for the view and the friendly staff. You can see the view from outside without staying here, and you could come for a meal or drink if the menu suits you. I’ll keep looking for a good hotel.

I’ve stayed here for three years now, and it keeps getting better. The staff are lovely and accommodating, and the breakfast is among the best I’ve had in France. This year’s evening menu was wonderful, and the setting is still excellent. It’s a great spot for families with kids. Breakfast is generous, and the kitchen has come a long way since the year before. The menu is small but tasty. The outdoor terrace looks out over the bay, while the rooms at the back have terraces facing the church.
