Le Pourquoi Pas Le Crotoy

Our hostess was really pleasant and gave us useful pointers for sightseeing. Breakfast in the big kitchen was plentiful, with plenty of variety. The rooms were clean and charming, right in the city centre, so we could explore the bay on foot. We had a wonderful weekend and highly recommend the place. The 8 on the go.

The quiet location is close to lots of attractions, but our stay had several problems. The bedroom was clean, though small, and looked out onto a rather bland courtyard that could use some thoughtful decorating. The front courtyard was cluttered. Breakfast needs work. Each guest got one croissant, with bread and leftover cheese and ham from the previous day, from Carrefour, which were served despite the criticism. The kitchen was too cramped for breakfast; once seated, it was hard to get up. The milk, industrial fruit juice, and Carrefour yogurt were lukewarm. Apart from the one croissant per person, I felt the food hygiene was lacking.

We stayed in this lovely little nest, and Graziella welcomed us and shared advice for our GR120 hiking trip. We really enjoyed the guest room and its generous breakfast with lots of variety. A place worth recommending. The 4 hikers from Burgundy.

The disappointment is hard to put into words. We’re motorcyclists and normally camp, but the intense heat made us choose a hotel this time. When we arrived, we decided not to go inside. It felt like a case of people opening up anything just to make money. Laundry was hanging out to dry in front of the gate, there was no air conditioning, and the decor wasn’t even finished. At €121, we said no thanks. And I won’t even get into the reception. In short...
