Manoir du Bois Mignon

The breakfast was amazing, way beyond what we expected. We also loved relaxing in the lounge and dining room, which opens onto the pool and garden for guests. Our bedroom was generous in size, with a private sitting room upstairs. The house is full of lovely furniture and furnishings, and the host was relaxed and friendly. Tea, coffee, and a good range of glasses are available for enjoying a drink in the garden. Disliked: Nothing.

We loved unwinding by the beautiful pool among the lavender, or sitting under the big garden trees with Rosie the dog for company. Our days began with a fantastic breakfast outside, then we went cycling through the vineyards, canoeing on the dordogne, or visiting nearby idyllic villages. The room was outstanding, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and an amazing bathroom. Vanessa and Rob were perfect hosts and made us feel at home. If only we could have stayed longer!

The hosts were the most charming and helpful we've ever experienced, and arranged bookings at nearby vineyards and restaurants when we wanted to go out. With delightful breakfasts, including fresh eggs every day, and home-cooked evening meals, there was hardly any need to leave. The beautiful, peaceful surroundings felt far from the bustle of modern life. It was like home, only more luxurious, warm, and spacious. Parfait!

I loved my week at the gorgeous Manoir and would definitely return. Rob and Vanessa were sweet, kind, and gracious, and soon felt like friends. They made restaurant suggestions, sorted out bookings, and offered great ideas for things to do. Breakfast was a feast every morning, made to suit what we liked. They also hosted two fantastic BBQs with burgers, sausages, steak, ribs, couscous, roasted potatoes, and goat cheese salads. The well-preserved Manoir dates back to 1790 and has been thoughtfully updated with WiFi, a dreamy pool, and an outdoor bar with darts and billiards. Rob and Vanessa's charming young son, friendly Labrador, and two little cats added to the welcome. The cats will sunbathe with you if you like, or leave you alone if you don't.
