The cottage had everything we needed for two little kids, from games for our five-year-old to a cot and baby bath for our newborn. We also loved the saltwater pool and the grounds, which were lovely places to unwind. The château is beautiful, and the restaurant and bar serve great local wine, beer, cheese, and meat. It’s a handy base for exploring Normandy, too, with the war museums and landing beaches about a 30-minute drive away. We loved our stay. Such a special place!

After a day on the road, the garden and heated pool were just what we needed. Our family of four stayed in the garden view suite, which was spacious and beautifully decorated. We’d preordered meat and cheese platters for dinner and also bought some of the local juices and drinks. Breakfast had a lovely, thoughtful selection, just right for us. The hosts were so warm and welcoming. We only wish we’d booked a longer stay, and hope to come back soon.

Really charming, and so peaceful. We stayed in the cottage, where the kids had their own space and could make noise. It was well equipped: fridge, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine with a line for drying, and a towel warmer in the bathroom. There was also an oscillating fan in the upstairs kids’ room. The owner was soooo friendly. I did miss having a full-length mirror, though. The only one was above the bathroom sink.

Such a cozy little gem, and the setting is picturesque. The couple were really friendly, and we loved the breakfast and coffee. We were there for a D-Day tour, but this would be just as nice for a stay out in the French countryside. We couldn’t recommend it enough!

We stayed five nights in the Escapade suite with our baby, and it worked really well for spreading out. There are two bedrooms and a living room, so the baby had their own space. It’d also suit two older kids. The owners provided a high chair, baby tub, and crib, which made packing from America so much easier. Each suite feels private, and ours was beautifully decorated. The bed was quite soft, which my husband didn’t like, but I slept a full eight hours every night, something I hadn’t managed since before the baby was born! Breakfast is made with care every morning in the main house. I’m still thinking about the waffles and crepes. For dinner, you can preorder charcuterie, raclette, or seafood towers in the separate restaurant area, and buy alcoholic drinks. They also have shelf-stable meals like lasagna and moussaka in handy jars to take away. That was key after a busy day sightseeing, when we didn’t want to head back out to eat once restaurants opened at 7pm with a little baby in tow. It’s a beautiful historic residence with lovely gardens between the main house and the lodging. There’s a heated, covered pool, too. We had a busy schedule of castles and beaches, but one sunny afternoon we dipped our toes in the water while the baby napped and we drank some local cider. The location is convenient for Bayeux, and there’s a large grocery store with a gas station just a five-minute drive away. A truly magical, kid-friendly place to stay in Normandy. I’d definitely stay again if we come back.
