B&B HOTEL Rouen Parc des Expos Zénith

Rouen is lovely, with a beautiful cathedral and a historic old town that make it well worth visiting. The hotel, though, is a long way outside the city, and we wouldn't stay there again. Our room was gloomy, poorly lit, musty, and dated, and it didn't look much like the photos. The air conditioning barely worked on our first night, then leaked so much water the next day that it left a puddle on the floor. The stay was far from pleasant.

We were travelling with our dogs and got a quiet night's sleep before heading off after breakfast at the hotel. It's easy to find, in a reasonably priced and safe area, with a few restaurants within walking distance. It's a B&B hotel, so you know what you're getting.

The breakfast had a great range, and the price would be hard to beat elsewhere. Getting into the room after hours with the code was easy too. I'll definitely stay again. Thank you!

I booked the more expensive flexible rate so I could pay with Chèques-Vacances, after calling ahead and being told the staff could accept them while reception was open. I followed those instructions, but couldn't use that payment method in the end. On Saturday I arrived around 9 AM, during the posted reception hours. A staff member was there, but asked me to return at 2 PM to pay. When I came back then, reception was closed. I tried the intercom and was told to come back at 5 PM, so I had to pay by bank card instead. The disorganization and mixed messages were unacceptable. I booked in good faith and paid extra, based on clear assurances that they would take Chèques-Vacances. Worst B&B ever.
