Camping Abri de Camargue

We had plenty of room to choose a camper spot we liked, and the reception team was nice. But the restaurant and snack bar were shut during our two-day visit, and reception didn't know about it. The next bakery or shop was around a 20-minute walk each way. The mosquitoes also made it hard to enjoy the stay.

We won't be coming back. The nearest toilet and shower were closed, so we had to cross the whole campsite to reach another one. When we asked reception to help call a taxi to the closest pharmacy, the woman there refused and told us to find it online and call ourselves, saying they were a campsite, not a hotel. We're tourists from another country and don't speak French. Having traveled to many countries, we've never had guests treated so terribly. I can't recommend this place.

The pitches had shade but not much grass, and the facilities were okay. The grounds staff were helpful, and there was a pool and a small shop by the bar. The music played loudly until midnight, with no warning, and there was no food service that evening because of a concert. Prices were above average. Irritating, but I would still go again.

The stay was okay, but night access is limited: there are only two toilets for campers, and the showers are closed from midnight until 8 a.m. That’s awkward if you need to set off early.
