There are restaurants, bars, and bakeries nearby, the neighborhood felt safe even when I walked alone at night, and public transport is accessible. There’s an elevator, and the hotel reception is open 24/7. You need a keycard to get inside. For the price, it’s good value and looked like the photos. I slept well in a quiet courtyard-facing room on the 8th floor. I’m a light sleeper, and I could hear people slamming doors and talking in the hallway, but it wasn’t loud enough to disturb me. The bed was huge and comfortable with soft pillows, and the heater was useful in winter. There’s no air conditioning, but opening the window was enough. The room was cleaned almost every day and fresh towels were provided each time. On the downside, it takes almost an hour to reach the city’s tourist spots. The room was tiny, and we couldn’t even open our luggage. The shower flooded, though it drained quickly, so I had to watch that the floor didn’t overflow. There was no hairdryer, and only one shower gel that also served as hand soap. One man greeted us nicely, but a woman barely acknowledged us at checkout. When I asked where to leave our luggage, she said okay, but later it had been moved and we were told we couldn’t leave it there. It would have helped if she’d shown us where to put it.

When money’s tight but you still want to enjoy Paris, Ibis budget Paris Porte d’Italie Est is a good option. Metro and buses are a few minutes away on foot, and the city center is about 30 minutes away by public transport. Our room for three was cozy, with comfortable beds, and both the room and bathroom were clean. We stayed four nights. Towels were changed regularly, and despite the road-facing windows, it was very quiet at night. The staff were lovely and helpful. We managed to communicate somehow with our minimal French. Recommend!

For three people, the room barely fits one. There was almost no toiletries, just a nearly empty bottle of hair, body, and hand soap and half a toilet roll. I asked to borrow a hairdryer for five minutes and was charged £20. At breakfast, the only staff member left the toaster unplugged and the juice machine empty. They were eating behind the counter while guests arrived, and asked for room numbers with food in their mouth. A budget hotel still needs basic common sense. If breakfast starts at 7am on weekends and 6:30am on weekdays, have things ready then instead of leaving the job to eat first. We left the

The location is the only good thing; the hotel itself was terrible. I paid extra for an air conditioning room, but when I arrived, the hotel had switched off all the AC without telling guests beforehand. Ants got into the food we kept in our bag on the floor, since there were no cabinets or wardrobe to store it. Breakfast was okay. The hotel is near the metro, Auchan, and Lidl.

We had a room for two adults and a teen. It can work for a family with a child, but the upper bed is pretty small. The room itself is small too, though it’s a good option if you only need it for sleeping. Breakfast was good and enough for the price, but the women serving it were slow. It took ages for them to bring out more bread or jam. The receptionists were nice and helpful, and the windows kept out noise. Cleaning was poor. They don’t wash the floor or change the sheets. There was hair and dust everywhere. I know it’s a two star hotel, so they don’t have to do that daily, but we stayed six nights and the room wasn’t properly cleaned even once. I’d like the owners to take that into consideration. I recommend the hotel and would stay again.
