La Chataigneraie

Caroline was a wonderful host, and the welcome pack was especially appreciated when our plane was delayed. In May, we had lovely weather and enjoyed walks straight from the gite. The leisurely five-hour circular walk to Tour de Goa was well worth doing, and Sahorre is just a short walk down the lane at the bottom of the garden. La Chataigneraie is ideally placed for getting out and about. Evol, Eus, Villefranche-le-Conflent and Castelnou are all within a 45-minute drive, and the Petit Train Jaune leaves from nearby Villefranche. We enjoyed the trip. There are also several beaches within an hour by car. We particularly loved relaxing on the Petit Gite terrace, looking over the swimming pool with a glass of wine from Cave Salies and watching the birds against the hills. Inside, we had everything we needed, including a really comfortable bed, hot water straight away and perfectly adequate cooking facilities. We’d recommend this gite for a holiday.

We stayed with five families and the kids, and all the little details were taken care of. Carolyn and Bob are the best hosts we’ve come across. Miss France already.

A lovely B&B in a beautiful house and setting. We got a warm welcome and found the atmosphere very humble. It has everything we wanted, including a swimming pool, wi-fi and fitness room.

The owners are really friendly, and the swimming pool is gorgeous. Fabulous B&Bs and gites. I’d highly recommend staying here.
