The food at lunch was excellent, and the service and setting were first class. I’d highly recommend it.

My husband and I have been coming to this little hotel in Le Lude for many, many years. We had another delicious dinner tonight, and we still have such fond memories of the place. The staff and service are wonderful, and the food is just delicious. They deserve five stars. Thank you for keeping the traditional warm welcome and service going, along with the delicious food Danny provided before he retired. We only ate lunch at the restaurant on Christmas, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The choices were four courses, fish or meat, for 47 Euros, or five courses with both for 53. I chose the four-course meat menu. The entrée was nicely cooked and presented, though nothing unusual for Christmas, when fois gras and St Jaques are everywhere. The venison was okay, but the vegetables alongside it had odd, off flavors that took away from the meal. There was a decent cheese selection, and the little tartiflette was a highlight. I’d never seen this Savoy specialty served as part of a cheese course, but it worked really well. Dessert was mixed. I was looking forward to the chocolate mousse with caramel bottom, but didn’t like it at all. The ice cream and other pastries were okay. Coffee was pretty bad, served far too hot and bland. The wines, though, are an easy recommendation. The Loir region, not Loire, isn’t very popular intentionally, but it makes great whites and decent reds. Local wines are the way to go, especially Jasnieres and Coteaux du Loir.

We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. The server and staff were incredibly kind, and the whole experience was lovely. I’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you!
