A total disappointment. The cottage was filthy, with barely any heating or hot water during our three-night stay. Then we were told to clean it ourselves or pay €60. We were also charged extra for electricity at the end, without being told in advance. There's a fireplace, but no wood provided, and you have to pay for that too. The owner is dishonest. Run away!

In a quiet little country hamlet, the cottage itself is lovely. But between rentals it isn't heated, and the electricity only gets switched on when the tenant arrives. Be ready for one night with the radiators at full blast and maybe 16°C (61°F) by morning, with the hot water taking just as long to come through. We rented it from April 11th to 22nd, 2016, and the cleaning clearly hadn't been done. The kitchen table was filthy and dusty. The TV didn't work, and there was no HD digital terrestrial television decoder. Charges to keep in mind: around €35 for electricity per week (€0.20 per kWh), €10 for fireplace wood, which amounted to just 3 logs during my stay, and €50 for cleaning. Not worthy of a Gîtes de France rating.

If peace and quiet are what you're after, the cottage is ideally located.
