Each room has its own theme, colours and furniture, so the rooms feel really unique. The building and its setting are beautiful, and the atmosphere is romantic. Breakfast was simple, healthy and genuine. The owner was very kind and ready to help with anything we needed.

We were really impressed when we stayed a couple of weeks ago. The host was accommodating and knew the area well, and we were lucky to have breakfast on the outdoor terrace. Our room had lovely decor, a comfy bed and a generously sized bathroom. It’s very reasonably priced and just a short walk into town. I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

After sleeping for ten hours, I felt so rested that the holiday seemed to have properly begun, so I added another night. It’s a quiet, comfortable place for an overnight stop if you’re driving south from the northern ports and taking a route that avoids Rouen’s emission charges. There’s no restaurant, but breakfast is great, and tea and coffee are always available in the breakfast room. The owner is a lovely, helpful lady. There’s plenty to see nearby, so it could also make a great base for a long weekend.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we’ve booked again for the trip home. Tina, the host, couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was plentiful and really fresh. There’s also a vet just up the road. The room was huge, very clean and perfectly appointed.

The hostess was so kind, and the interior design really impressed me. We’d expected an old farmstead, but the place turned out to be modern and thoughtfully designed. Doors use badges, there are USB sockets in the walls, and the breakfast room has SMEG appliances. The suites are beautifully decorated and named for artists. We stayed in the Frida (Kahlo) suite, with lovely details reflecting Mexican roots, paintings, and even wallpaper to match, while still keeping the original building’s authentic style. It brings together art, authenticity and modern convenience. The hostess was welcoming and spoke at least English and French fluently. She was a pleasure to have around without being pushy or intrusive, and even came to greet us and serve coffee in the breakfast room in the morning. Breakfast was tasty, with French baguettes and cheese, homemade yoghurt, coffee, apple juice, fruit and more. It may not satisfy anyone used to huge buffet spreads, but it was plenty for us. You can also have breakfast outside on the terrace, or sit there at another time. We happened to be there during a heat wave. We opened the windows to cool the room at night and were surprised by how much heavy traffic there was. We had to choose between the heat and trying to sleep through the loud trucks passing from time to time. That should be less of a problem in normal temperatures, when the windows can stay shut, or in a room at the back. One small issue: one of the rooms in the Frida suite couldn’t be fully closed or locked. We were very satisfied with our visit and I wholeheartedly recommend it. The service was superb and the interior design incredible. It’s worth a stay when you’re passing through.
