The rooms feel old and dated, and it gets very loud at night from other guests. It also seems like there are apartments in the property, since some balconies had personal belongings on them. The front desk staff were very friendly, and the breakfast provided was nice. The shower soap wasn’t good. They only provide soap that feels like public restroom hand soap, so if you care about your hair, bring your own shampoo.

The hotel’s in a nice spot and has a lovely little feel to it. When we asked about topping up our water bottle, though, the woman at reception was abrupt and unhelpful. She just told us to fill it from the bathroom sink. That could definitely be handled better.

Step outside and you’re right by the fort across the street, with museums nearby too. The rooms are small, but clean, and breakfast was pretty good. I’d stay again. During my visit, kids cruised past at night in their rice burners, which might annoy some people. Honestly, I enjoyed it.

We were able to walk all around Caen from this very central hotel. Our room was lovely, and the balconies were a nice extra. The front desk team were kind and helpful, especially Nathan. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel De Quatrans.

Street parking can take a bit of searching, though that seems fair for a hotel right in the middle of the city. The price was good for what you get, and Nathan at reception was so friendly and helpful. Since we don’t speak French, he advised us on parking and places to eat, and even made bookings for us.
