Our room was spotless and had a king-sized bed, which isn’t easy to find at many hotels in France. The hotel is tiny and reasonably priced, but pretty bare-bones. We were told there was air conditioning, then found only an oscillating fan, a real problem with temperatures in the mid to high 80s. I’d suggest one of the double rooms for a night or short visit when the weather is cooler. Also, you need an entry code whenever nobody is at reception, or you’ll be locked out. The language barrier meant this wasn’t properly explained at check-in.

My room was spacious and cosy, and the bed was so comfortable. I also loved having a bathtub. The staff were caring and suggested places to visit and eat, though I didn’t try breakfast. It’s well placed for the two abbayes, the castle and St Peter church. Great hotel.

I stayed briefly during the D-Day commemorations in Caen. The room was roomy, nicely furnished and clean, with a comfortable bed and a well laid out bathroom. The lobby looked good, and the staff were welcoming and courteous. I recommend it.

The building is beautiful, and the hotel was very clean. Our hosts made us feel welcome and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, fresh and good value. A lovely place in a great location, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

It’s family run, unpretentious and excellent value among Caen hotels. The family really go out of their way to help. For a B&B stay, I want a convenient location, a real welcome, helpful service, a clean and comfortable room, and fresh local food. This place delivered on all of that, and I strongly recommend it.
