Hôtel La Fontaine Caen Centre

The two brothers who run the hotel are friendly, and the rooms are nice, though very small. There’s no lift, so the top floor means a lot of stairs. Parking costs €22 a night, which is steep. The hotel doesn’t own the car park, but I think they should try to arrange a guest rate. Breakfast was very poor: just bread, ham, cheese, juice, tea and coffee, with long-life milk instead of fresh.

Zoe (Owner) was friendly and helped us with everything we needed. When our flight was cancelled the day before, my family and I had to move our reservation by one night, and the change was handled without any trouble. The rooms and facilities were clean, check-in and check-out were easy, and breakfast was very good. Highly recommend.

A charming little boutique hotel with very clean rooms and a pleasant owner. There are nice restaurants close by, and the hotel serves a nice breakfast in the morning.

For the price, it’s decent, and the location is the best part. Restaurants, bars and sightseeing are all nearby. Parking is a five-minute walk away and paid, except after 7pm. The rooms are small, almost too cramped for two, and the bed wasn’t especially comfortable, with very small pillows. There’s no AC. Service is friendly and helpful, but staff aren’t always around.
