The pool is always open and has an amazing view. My boyfriend and I were welcomed by such lovely, enthusiastic staff. The restaurant was fully booked, unfortunately, but they suggested another place by the harbor and it turned out great. We highly recommend it!

The ocean sounds were a lovely extra, and our spacious room was great. Service was excellent, and we had a nice dinner at the restaurant after enjoying the pool and spa. The hotel sits in the middle of the old citadel, with history all around. A very nice place to stay.

It feels like a fairy tale, with spacious rooms overlooking the Atlantic. The port and downtown are both within walking distance, and there’s music and art on the property. Simply fantastic. Loved it!

Their online booking site seems to go unchecked. You get a message saying the booking isn’t confirmed and to wait for confirmation, but no confirmation ever arrives. This has happened for the second year in a row, so I’m pretty sure nobody is looking at it. Strange. The phone number says they’re available until 18:30 on weekdays, but they actually stop answering around 18:00.

Staying in a Vauban castel hostel was a wonderful experience. The renovation of this architectural treasure is marvelous.
